What are E Mini’s?
An E Mini is simply one type of Futures Contract that can be traded on Global Markets. In actual fact the S&P500 E Mini is the only type on contract that we trade.

What is a Future?
A future is just a shortened version of the term “futures contract”. It is essentially a legally binding contract to buy or sell a commodity for a special price at a predetermined time in the future.
If you Buy a futures contract, it means you promise to pay the price of the asset at a specified time.
If you Sell a futures contract, you effectively make a promise to transfer the asset to the buyer of the future at a specified price at a particular time.

Key Elements to Futures Contracts
All Futures contracts are made up of the following elements:

A Buyer
A Seller
A fixed expiry date in the future
A pre-agreed price between the buyer and the seller at the time of the trade

So it’s really just a legally binding contract to buy or sell a specific commodity, such as gold,soybeans,wheat or euro currency, at a particular date in the future at an agreed price.
